A Message From Jeff Mann
My family and I founded The Mann Foundation in memory of our parents Marion and Irving Mann, to help fund research for geriatric diseases and, ultimately, find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
Ever since Alzheimer’s disease ended our mother’s life in 2001, we have been actively involved with Mount Sinai Hospital, helping to raise funds. We have also been working with such other fine charities as UJA Federation, ORT, Capuchin Food Pantries, Israel Bonds, City of Hope, Starlight Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Food Allergy Institute and the Jack Martin Fund. In addition, we recently formed an important alliance with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), a national organization responsible for so much fine work.
Mount Sinai and AFA hold a very special place in our hearts. We believe that by working more directly on behalf of the hospital’s brilliant research team and the AFA’s far reaching network, we can make a real difference in finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease sooner.
Aging is a reality that affects all of us—not only as we watch our parents grow older, but as we grow older, too. It is estimated that by 2030, 17 million Americans will have Alzheimer’s disease, i.e., 20 percent of the U.S. population!
Thank you for helping us fund critical research that will have an impact on all of our lives and working with us to win the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
